Launceston Steam Railway were in court in January contesting two claims of "squatters rights" on an ancient mill stream which was purchased in 1977. The claimants included Mr. Jonathan Coode whose Coode Estate is a very large landowner in Cornwall. Mr Coode's counsel was T. Dutton of Maitland Chambers, London, instructed by Messrs Coodes Solicitors. The railway represented themselves. The case was heard by Mr. Ian Clarke sitting as a Deputy Adjudicator to Her Majesty's Land Registry. The Railway won the case and were awarded costs.
